Coming to Budapest

Budapest is easily reachable by air or land. Once you are here there is a vast network of buses, metro and trams in Budapest. Tickets can be purchased at selling points at most the metro stations, ticket vending machines, the mobile application BudapestGO (paid by credit/debit card, Google Pay, Apple Pay, (ticket needs to be activated before your travel). By Air

For arrival by air, the main international hub is Liszt Ferenc International Airport. There are flights to Budapest from all major European cities as well as from a large number of overseas metropoles. There are frequent buses connecting the airport with the downtown (100E) or the closest metro station (200E). The daily travel card for public transport costs 6,5€, single ticket bit more than 1€ (one way), time based tickets ~1,5€ (30 Minutes), ~2€ (90 Minutes) (https://bkk.hu/en/tickets-and-passes/prices/). The other option is taking a taxi. A taxi to the center can cost 28€. BOLT is also available.

By Car

Budapest has highway connections from all directions. Traffic can be heavy in Budapest and parking sometimes is difficult and usually not free.

By Train

Budapest is also reachable by train from many European cities. From the main train stations, you can easily use Metro and other means of public transport to get to other locations in Budapest.
