WONCA Europe Newsletter January 2021

Dear WONCA colleagues,

As we look back at 2020, we see very many changes in family medicine across the world in response to the pandemic and we recognize the flexibility and commitment shown by family physicians globally. Innovation has been a key factor and, as a community, we have embraced new technology to continue delivering healthcare.

In particular, we would like to thank DEGAM for our first successful WONCA Europe conference virtually in Berlin in December. WONCA Amsterdam will also be virtual and we look forward to the new ideas that they will bring us.

As we face 2021, we see a light at the end of the tunnel with mass vaccinations across Europe but we must not forget the principles of equity that underpins the core values of family medicine. The Covid pandemic has unearthed pre-existing inequities and we must continue to advocate for our patients so that there is health for all.

Stay safe and look out for each other.

Yours,

On behalf of WONCA Europe Executive Board
