VdGM Conference Exchange
Dear vascodagamians,
We are delighted to invite you to participate in our VdGM Conference Exchange in Vigo from 13th to 20th of October 2019
Conference-exchange information:
Arrival: Participants are expected to arrive by the afternoon of October 13.
Primary care exchange: Participants will attend the practices on the 14th and 16th of October, usually for half of the day, depending on of timetable of the assigned tutor. All attendees will be asked to prepare a brief presentation on the Family Medicine Learning Program in their country during residency and the job opportunities available after completing the GP / FM specialization program.
The 100% attendance of the scientific exchange program is mandatory to receive the exchange certificate of the VdGM conference (*)
Conference: The 89th EGPRN meeting will run from 17th to 20th of October 2019.
Social program: Several optional social activities during the exchange will be offered like tours or dinners, more information will be available later.
Accommodation: Accommodation is not included, but we will be happy to help you to find a suitable one.

There are 3 places available for this exchange.
Our selection will be based on the following criteria:
- The candidate needs a good knowledge of English or Spanish (upper intermediate spoken level and listening comprehension)
- To be elected, candidates must commit to playing an active role in the exchange program and be willing to share experiences in their country of work.
- One person per country. The second and third candidates will be selected from among the countries with the highest number of applicants.
- The involvement of the applicant in the work of VdGM and the commitment to our movement will be taken into consideration.
- We will also try to provide more opportunities to applicants who have not previously participated in an exchange.
- All candidates are required to participate and will be asked to prepare a brief presentation on the Family Medicine Learning Program in their country during residency and the job opportunities available after completing the GP / FM specialization program.
IMPORTANT: The candidate must be an open-minded person willing to avoid isolation and individualism and work as a team with all the participants in the exchange. The purpose of the visit to Vigo is to know the Spanish health system, taking advantage of the opportunity to open up to different ways of living, working and doing medicine, breaking down the barriers of ignorance of different cultures and beliefs, share our experiences and points of view and enjoying the spirit of union and friendship.

(*)In case of non-compliance with these requirements, the certificate of the international professional exchange endorsed by the Vasco da Gama Movement and the Spanish Scientific Society of Family and Community Medicine will not be issued.
(**) We may be able to finance a part of the conference fee. More information will be provided later on.
